Hoi An green tourism
(QNO) - The government and travel businesses in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province are making their efforts to create local green tourism environment, attracting more tourists.
An 8T message has recently been sent by the Quang Nam Tourism Association to make Hoi An a green tourist attraction.
The message includes action, refusing single-use plastic products, reducing waste, reusing, using organic products, recycling, media, creating eco-friendly products.
In addition, the plan of businesses’ plastic waste reduction for Hoi An - a green destination in the 2021-2023 period has just been announced by the Hoi An city’s People’s Committee and the Quang Nam Tourism Association.
It is under the framework of IUCN - PRO Vietnam Strategic
Partnership and the project on local solutions to plastic pollution funded by the US Agency for International Development and implemented by the Center for Supporting Green Development (GreenHub).
The plan is built based on three main activities: making a recycling network in Hoi An, evaluating the results at enterprise, promoting Hoi An tourism brand as a green destination.
According to Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city’s People’s Committee, one of top priorities of local socio-economic development is environmental protection for sustainable development.
So, the participation of everybody, especially tourism businesses, the local authorities to protect environment for green destination in Hoi city is very necessary.
