Thaco exports 870 semi-trailers to the US market
(QNO) - Truong Hai Auto Corporation (Thaco) organised an exportation ceremony of the 870 semi-trailers to the USA on December 15 in the Dung Quat Economic Zone (Quang Ngai province).
It was the first shipment under the agreement between Thaco Industries (Vietnam) and PITTS Enterprises Group (USA) on 15,500 semi-trailers, with a value of 215 million USD, exported to the US by 2022.
At the ceremony, another agreement on exclusive distribution of 25,000 semi-trailers worth more than 350 million USD by 2023 was officially signed by Thaco Industries and PITTS Enterprises.
So, the total of Thaco’s semi-trailers that PITTS Enterprises commits to distribute in the US market in 2022 – 2023 period is 40,500 semi-trailers with a value of 565 million USD.
According to a representative of Thaco, Thaco Industries will build a semi-trailer factory equipped with modern technology, with an annual capacity of 20,000 products, meeting the demands in the US and other markets such as Japan, Canada and Australia. The factory will be put into operation in June 2022.
Besides, Chu Lai Port in Quang Nam province will be upgraded into an international gateway, connected with the Central Highlands, Laos, Cambodia, Southern and Northern Vietnam.
Up to now, Thaco has exported Kia passenger cars to Myanmar, Thailand; buses to the Philippines, Thailand, Singapore; trucks to Cambodia.
In addition, Thaco has also provided OEM parts for auto manufacturers such as Toyota, Isuzu, Hyundai, Piaggio and mechanical services for General Electric, Doosan, Makitech.
