Vietnam, a safe destination for international and domestic tourists
(QNO) - The reopening of Vietnam tourism in the new normal must be safe and effective under the Vietnamese Government’s guidance.
The most attractive tourism market in Southeast Asia
According to statistics of the Vietnam National Administration of Tourism, more than 8,900 tourists went to Vietnam from November 2021 to February 8, 2022 in the pilot program of tourism reopening.
They were from different countries in the world, mainly Russia, Uzbekistan, Kazakhstan, Korea, Singapore, the U.K, the USA, Canada...
There is an upward trend of international searches for Vietnam tourism, which is evaluated as the most attractive market in Southeast Asia.
Recently, Vietnam has been listed in the world’s top 10 destinations for digital nomads by Canadian magazine The Travel thanks to the developed digital infrastructure that facilitates international tourists’ searches for tourism information, tour and hotel booking.
Safe tourism reopening
Vietnam tourism is ready for a safe full reopening to foreign visitors as from March 15 in the new normal. The resumption of regular commercial flights including international ones is a condition for tourism recovery.
Currently, Vietnam recognizes vaccine passports, vaccination certificates issued by 79 countries and territories. However, only 14 countries recognize Vietnam’s vaccine passport.
Vietnam’s tourism industry is improving ability of services, material facilities, human resources, tourism products, tourism promotion and competitive ability to attract more tourists.
In addition, the requirement of Covid-19 test, health insurance, travel insurance is very important to ensure the safe reopening in the new normal.
Ready for reopening
After 2 years of tourism closure due to Covid-19, Vietnam will reopen to international tourists.
In Vietnam, restrictions on international flights have been completely removed since February 15. International tourism activities will be fully opened as from March, 15.
Accordingly, foreign tourists to Vietnam will be required to meet Vietnamese regulations on health, such as proof of negative Covid-19 test before departure (within 24 hours for rapid test or 72 hours for RT-PCR), activating an app for healthcare management during the time in Vietnam.
Air passengers must take Covid-19 tests at the airport (for Covid-19 suspected cases) or at their accommodations (for others), then complying with Vietnamese regulations on Covid-19 prevention and control.
All International visitors entering Vietnam by road will be tested at border gates.
