Green tourism development in Quang Nam mountainous areas
(QNO) - Quang Nam mountainous areas have great potential for tourism, especially green tourism development.
There are 9 districts in the Quang Nam mountainous region, home to many ethnic minorities with a variety of indigenous cultural traditions.
There are also a lot of monuments and beautiful natural landscapes there. The climate is always cool. They are suitable for tourism development.
Visitors to the Quang Nam mountainous region are usually interested in natural landscapes and ethnic traditional cultures there.
They go to primeval forests of fokienia, ironwood, rhododendron, ancient banyan; ginseng and medicinal herb gardens, especially Ngoc Linh ginseng places.
At the same time, visitors also spend time experiencing daily living activities and unique cultural traditions of the indigenous ethnic minorities.
Nam Tra My district has planned for the tourism development in the Ngoc Linh ginseng region.
In the coming time, the district will upgrade the roads to Tak Ngo Ngoc Linh ginseng garden, to Ngoc Linh peak, and to community-based tourism sites.
Besides, Nam Tra My will cooperate with its neighbours to build a transportation network in the region such as Tra Leng- Phuoc Son, Dak To- Ho Chi Minh route, Dong Truong Son route, Tra Vinh- Dakru (Kon Tum).
Concurrently, the district has also proposed the Government of Vietnam to upgrade National Highway 40B to connect three districts with potential for community-based tourism development, including Tien Phuoc (owning a system of ancient houses and gardens, ecological gardens, stone spaces, natural landscapes), Bac Tra My (with the historical monuments), and Nam Tra My (home to Ngoc Linh ginseng, primeval forests, and ethnic cultures.
