Rural tourism development in Vietnam
(QNO) - Vietnam is a country blessed with beautiful and diverse natural landscapes. So, the model of rural tourism in association with agricultural ecology - a trend for sustainable development - is paid attention.
The development of rural tourism contributes to creating employment opportunities and income improvements for local people and protecting the ecological environment in rural areas.
At the same time, agricultural tourism also helps promote the cultural identities of ethnic groups and attract more investment in local economic growth.
Vietnam currently has about 400 locations exploiting agricultural and rural tourism activities, mostly community-based tourism models.
The country’s typical rural tourism destinations include Lao Cai, Son La, Ben Tre, Tien Giang, Quang Nam, Hue…
Vietnam's New Rural Construction Program combined with OCOP (One Commune, One Product) becomes a highlight to attract more and more tourists to experience rural tourism in the country.
The website https://nongthon.vietnamtourism.gov.vn has recently been launched by the Tourist Information Center under the Vietnam National Tourism Administration.
It aims to promote rural tourism, natural landscapes, the potential and advantages of agriculture, craft villages, OCOP products, and the culture and ecological environment of Vietnam’s localities.
