Cham Islands says no to plastic waste
(QNO) - The programme “Cham Islands says no to plastic straws and cups” was launched by Hoi An city, Quang Nam province on May 26. It aims to mobilize the local residents and tourists not to use plastic straws and cups in Cham Islands.
In May 2009, Hoi An city launched the programme “Cham Islands says no to plastic bags” of which the local people approved. It contributes to protect the beautiful clean green environment, attract more tourists and improve the local lives in Cham Islands.
Cham Islands is the first place nationwide to control nylon bags successfully. This attractive destination welcomed 32,000 visitors in 2009, 70,000-80,000 ones in 2011 and nearly 410,000 visitors in 2017.
