Quang Nam women and start-up movement
(QNO) - Many start-up models in Quang Nam do not only help poor women with their difficulties but also have a strong influence on the local socio-economic development movement.
Pham Thi My starts her business with cereal flour. Her production facility is located in Duy Son commune (Duy Xuyen district, Quang Nam province), creating jobs for dozens of poor women. She supplies 3 tons of cereal flour to the market each year, getting a revenue of over VND 1 billion.
Tran Thi Yen succeeded her father’s Ma Chau silk production facility in Nam Phuoc town (Duy Xuyen district) after graduating from Danang University of Economics.
Yen’s silk weaving facility currently provides 15 regular jobs for the locals. Each month, she supplies 3,000 metres of silk to the market, mainly famous fashion brands.
To stabilise raw material sources, Yen has cooperated with local people to plant mulberry trees to raise silkworms.
Yen’s silk is increasingly popular with the market, bringing in an annual revenue of more than VND 3 billion a year.
Reportedly, there are nearly 800 models of women’s start-ups in Quang Nam.
These models have significantly contributed to the implementation of local socio-economic development goals.
Many examples of women who are good at production and business not only bring benefits to society but also create a strong spillover in the community.
