Opening ceremony of Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival 2023
(QNO) - The opening ceremony of Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival 2023 took place in Huong Tra eco-village on the evening of April 20.
Giving a speech at the opening ceremony, Deputy Chairman of the Tam Ky city People’s Committee Nguyen Hong Lai stated that the Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival is among a series of sports and cultural events held by the city.
It is aimed at building the tourism brand of Tam Ky - a city of Padauk blossom, making up a tourism product in Huong Tra eco-village.
At the same time, the Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival is a chance to introduce Tam Ky to the public.
Padauk flowers dye Tam Ky city in yellow every April. In Huong Tra eco-village where there are rows of hundreds-year-old Padauk trees, visitors can easily find the typical yellow along the riverside, making the village more poetic and beautiful.
It is the 6th time Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival has been held.
The festival helps to identify the location and position of Tam Ky city on the tourism map. It is also a great opportunity for visitors everywhere learn more about kind and hospitable local residents.
Furthermore, the festival contributes to the environmental protection, the conservation and promotion of natural and cultural landscapes, and bettering the locals’ income.
Attending the opening ceremony of the Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival 2023, Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu appreciated Tam Ky’s efforts to maintain and develop the festival - one of the green tourism products.
Deputy Chairman Buu asked Tam Ky to strengthen promotion and introduction of tangible and intangible cultural values, local unique tourism products, especially the Padauk Blossom festival, to the public in order to attract more visitors and tourists.
Besides the performance art, a firework performance was also included in the opening ceremony.
The Tam Ky Padauk Blossom Festival 2023 is being held with 21 activities to introduce the beauty of Padauk blossom and tourism potential of Tam Ky city.
Besides the opening ceremony, there are Ao Dai (traditional Vietnamese costumes) festival, photo exhibition, Bai Choi performance art, sightseeing tours of Huong Tra discovery, sports and cultural activities.
