Promoting tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Japan
(QNO) - According to Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori, Hoi An is considered as a favorite destination in Central Vietnam for Japanese visitors.
At a tourism seminar - a part of the Vietnam - Japan Festival 2023 organized by the Japan National Tourism Organization (JNTO) in Da Nang city, Consul General of Japan in Da Nang Yakabe Yoshinori said the number of Vietnamese travelers to Japan as well as Japanese tourists to Vietnam in general and Central Vietnam (including Quang Nam province) has strongly increased.
According to Uchida Shusuke - a representative of JNTO in Vietnam, Japan welcomed 284 thousand tourists from Vietnam in 2022, and 262 thousand in the first five months of 2023.
Giving his speech at the seminar, Deputy Director of the Da Nang Department of Tourism said preferential policies after the COVID-19 pandemic have paved the way for an increase in the number of tourists visiting each destination.
So, Da Nang city hoped JNTO in Vietnam to continue to coordinate, exchange information, organize cultural activities and other events to strengthen tourism cooperation between Japan and Vietnam.
At the seminar, JNTO and Vietnam Airlines signed a memorandum of understanding on promoting tourism cooperation between Vietnam and Japan.
