Spread of green tourism
(QNO) - Green tourism is a development trend in the world, including in Quang Nam province, towards sustainable environmental and cultural protection.
Raising awareness of environmental protection
At the end of August 2023 in Hoi An Memories Land (Hoi An city, Quang Nam), the minishow "Ao dai - Vietnamese colors through recycled language" took place. The project, founded by the children's clothing brand GUON, aims to support children in turning scraps of fabric into valuable products.
Ms. Dien Vi - representative of GUON said the project is to spread the message of environmental protection to people and tourists, especially children, about sustainable development.
Last summer, nearly 10 green tours with hundreds of domestic and international students were organised by Hoi An Express Travel.
These tours provided visitors with opportunities to explore historical and cultural sites and community tourism villages and immerse themselves in local nature.
According to Ms. Pham Que Anh - Director of Hoi An Express Travel, spreading the message of environmental protection is the beginning of the formation of "green" consciousness in children – owners of the future world.
In recent years, Quang Nam has invested in green tourism development and considers this an important task in its tourism development strategy.
There have been positive changes. Tourism businesses and local people respond to transform and develop green tourism models.
For example, Silk Sense has built various activities for visitors for free, such as experiencing being a farmer, folding traditional coconut leaves, the Green Cups project (recycling plastic cups)…
Connections for green tourism
At the end of July, for the first time, three localities in Central Vietnam, including Quang Nam - Da Nang - Thua Thien Hue jointly organised a conference on green tourism development.
The event aimed to promote linkages and cooperation in developing green tourism product chains between Quang Nam, Da Nang and Thua Thien Hue; promote the strengths and potential of the localities; and diversify new tourism products in the direction of being green and sustainable to create attractive destinations.
Mr. Nguyen Thanh Hong - Director of the Department of Culture, Sports and Tourism of Quang Nam said the connection to develop the green tourism product chain of the three Central localities is necessary to provide visitors with perfect experiences.
Green tourism has become an inevitable trend in the choice of visitors. Therefore, localities and travel businesses must try their efforts to develop typical and green tourism models to attract more visitors for sustainable development.
