First Full Moon Fesival – a national intangible cultural heritage
(QNO) - A ceremony to receive the title of Vietnam national intangible cultural heritage of Hoi An First Full Moon Festival was organised on February 5.
According to Vice Chairman of the Hoi An city People’s Committee Nguyen Van Lanh, the typical value of the First Full Moon Festival is the result of cultural interference among countries of Vietnam, Japan and China in Hoi An international trade port city.
Until now, the First Full Moon Festival is one of the biggest traditional festivals in Hoi An city. It is also the soul contributing to the outstanding value of the UNESCO’s world cultural heritage of Hoi An.
The First Full Moon Festival is an opportunity to treat ancestors with respects, wish everyone well in the new year, and appreciate the values of this intangible cultural heritage.
