Indian experts survey Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery

(QNO) - A delegation of Indian experts and the Center for Monument and Landscape Management of Quang Nam province had the second survey at the special national relic site of Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery (Binh Dinh Bac commune, Thang Binh district, Quang Nam province) on April 26.

The survey aimed to plan for the restoration and conservation of Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery in the coming time.

Mr. Bhima - Director of the Museum under the Archaeological Survey of India said the plan shows the spirit of friendly cooperation between the two countries of Vietnam and India, especially in preserving tangible cultural values.

Reportedly, about 5 Indian experts will go to Quang Nam to conduct an 7.3ha archaeological excavation around  Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery, supporting the restoration of the main and auxiliary gates of the relic site in accordance with the original situation.

Earlier, the Government of India committed to supporting the conservation and restoration of Dong Duong Buddhist Monastery.
