Responding to World Environment Day
(QNO) - Activities aimed at responding to the World Environment Day (June 5) took place in Hoi An city and Tay Giang district (Quang Nam province).
It is estimated that approximately 19-23 million tons of plastic waste is annually released into the environment, which is harmful to human health all over the world.
Hoi An city has had a lot of policies and projects on minimising plastic waste and environmental protection.
In particular, the Hoi An city Women Union launched the programme of waste collection and waste sorting, encouraging local residents and visitors not to use plastic products.
On the occasion of the World Environment Day 2023, Hoi An spread the message on building a sustainable lifestyle that is harmonious with nature, reasonably using natural resources and biodiversity, and adapting to climate change.
Thereby, there are solutions to plastic waste, towards a cleaner and greener lifestyle for sustainable tourism development.
At another locality, Tay Giang district of Quang Nam province, a lot of activities were held to respond to the World Environment Day and Action for Environment 2023.
Besides cleaning the local environment by collecting waste, especially plastic waste, the locality encourages to use environment-friendly products and services.
