Documentary exhibition on Hoi An - Japan friendship and cooperation
(QNO) - The exhibition - part of the 19th Hoi An - Japan Cultural Exchange 2023 took place on August 4 in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province, with the participation of Japanese Consul General in Da Nang city Yakabe Yoshinori.
The exhibition with 50 picture panels focuses on featuring the origins of the Hoi An - Japan intimate relationship, twinning activities, friendship visits, cooperation in scientific research in the fields of archeology, restoration of wooden architecture, conservation and promotion of heritages, environmental protection, cultural and art exchange between Hoi An and Japan.
The relationship between Hoi An and Japan started more than 400 years ago when Japanese merchants came to Hoi An to set up their own residential quarters, making an important contribution to the prosperous and bustling international trading port city of Hoi An.
Vietnam and Japan officially established the diplomatic relations on September 21, 1973. This bilateral relation has been upgraded into the deep strategic partnership for peace and prosperity in Asia.
According to Japanese Consul General in Da Nang city Yakabe Yoshinori, the exhibition will help local people and visitors better understand the history of Vietnam - Japan friendship and long - standing cooperation. He believed this relationship will be better in the coming time .
