Hoi An Garden in Germany
(QNO) - Representatives of Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) and Wernigerode city (Germany) held a ceremony to inaugurate Hoi An Garden and set the nameplate of Hoi An Bridge in Wernigerode city (Saxony Anhalt State, Germany) on August 25.
The highlight of Hoi An Garden is the transmission of the cultural and historical story of Hoi An through works made from firewood drifting in the flood by artisan Le Ngoc Thuan (Cam An ward, Hoi An city).
This garden is expected to bring authentic and unique discoveries and experiences about Hoi An heritage city, thereby contributing to promoting the image and tourism brand of Hoi An to the public.
Since 2013, Wernigerode city has been twinned with Hoi An city (Vietnam), opening a turning point for cooperation between the two cities.
In the past 10 years, the two sides have carried out various cooperation and exchanges in economics, culture, education, tourism, and the environment, including the German beer festival in Hoi An, Wernigerode city’s solar energy project at Song Hoai Square in Hoi An, and supporting Hoi An workers to study and work in Wernigerode.
