Ngoc Linh ginseng festival
(QNO) - The 4th Ngoc Linh ginseng festival 2022 was held in Tra Mai commune (Nam Tra My district, Quang Nam province) from the first to the third of August.
The festival named Invitation from Ngoc Linh is one of the events responding to the National Tourism Year- Quang Nam 2022.
Present at the opening ceremony of the event were Quang Nam provincial leaders, a delegation from Hamyang (South Korea), and representatives of Kon Tum, Quang Ngai, Lao Cai, and Yen Bai provinces.
Ngoc Linh ginseng is well-known as Vietnamese ginseng, distributed in the mountainous areas of Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province) and Tu Mo Rong (Kon Tum province). It is a precious medicinal herb that has high economic values.
The area of Ngoc Linh ginseng is currently more than 15,000 hectares. 100 hectares is used for ginseng conservation and 5 thousand hectares for the development of Ngoc Linh ginseng.
The 4th Ngoc Linh ginseng festival is taking place with a lot of activities such as doing business, performance art, and folk games.
The festival is aimed at introducing Ngoc Linh ginseng to the public, contributing to raising the values of Ngoc Linh ginseng.
Besides, it encourages the consumption of Ngoc Linh ginseng, contributing to the local socio-economic development.
The festival is also an opportunity to raise the locals’ awareness of Ngoc Linh ginseng preservation and forest protection.
At the same time, it is a chance for businesses to invest in Ngoc Linh ginseng planting and processing, and to promote tourism development.
