Quang Nam calls for investment in logistics
(QNO) - Quang Nam is planning to attract more investment in infrastructure, including airport, seaport, road to develop the local logistics.
Quang Nam is synchronising the development of industries and logistics so that the province will attract more investors for the local socio-economic development.
Advantages
Quang Nam is gradually becoming a large centre for maritime transport and logistics in the region thanks to its perfect system of seaport, airport and roads.
In particular, the Nam Giang- Dak Ta Ook coming into operation has facilitated the economic development and trade cooperation between Vietnam, Laos, and Cambodia.
At the same time, Chu Lai seaport, which can receive 30,000-ton ships, becomes an important port in the region and Central Highlands.
Besides, Chu Lai airport, along with Da Nang international airport, will mutually support and provide transport services in the region and on the East-West Economic Corridor.
They are really important factors that can help Quang Nam and Da Nang to become a transport hub and logistics centre in the region.
To develop logistics further, Quang Nam has given priorities to infrastructure development, linking main traffic routes, and upgrading the roads to Nam Giang international border gate.
According to Deputy Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Ho Quang Buu, the province with its geographical convenient location has favourable conditions for investment attraction to become a centre for logistics in the region.
Reportedly, Quang Nam is making every effort to reduce logistics costs, which is considered as a strategic task for the provincial and regional production development.
Investment promotion
Quang Nam will develop the Nam Giang border gate economic zone and Nam Giang- Dak Ta Ook international border gate to promote trade exchange with Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar, and develop the East - West economic corridor.
At the same time, Quang Nam focuses on accelerating administrative reform, digital transformation, digital economy, e-commerce, cross-border e-commerce; developing human resources, especially high-quality human resources; promoting investment in logistics, perfecting institutions and regulations on logistics, completing the planning of aviation logistics infrastructure when Chu Lai airport becomes an international airport.
It is reported that Da Nang and Chu Lai international airports are planned to become the key airport pairs in Central Vietnam, providing aviation transport services in the region, linking with the East-West economic corridor.
So, Quang Nam should have strategies for investment attraction in logistics, especially on the East-West economic corridor.
