Quang Nam focuses on FDI in green economy
(QNO) - Quang Nam is focusing on calling for foreign direct investment (FDI) in green growth, especially green industry, high-tech agriculture, tourism and services.
Reportedly, there are now 194 FDI projects with a total capital of over USD 6 billion in Quang Nam, mainly in the Chu Lai Open Economic Zone, coastal tourist areas, industrial parks and clusters.
They are working in manufacturing and processing industry, tourism and services.
The FDI inflows come from about 30 countries and territories. South Korea is known as the country with the largest number of FDI projects (56 valid ones and about 824.8 million US dollars). In the first 10 months of 2022, the FDI enterprises reach their export value of over USD 1,074 million (up 36.1% over the same period in 2021) and import value of more than USD 772 million USD (up 11.78% over the same period in 2021).
Several FDI enterprises have been investing in manufacturing spare parts and auxiliary parts served for automobile production and assembly, raw and auxiliary materials for garment, electronic components for the electrical - electronic industry.
In terms of manufacturing spare parts and auxiliary parts served for automobile production and assembly, there are several FDI businesses along with THACO, including CTR Vina Co. Ltd, Korean automotive auxiliary manufacturer, airbag fabric factory under Hyosung Quang Nam Ltd., and an automotive electric vacuum pump manufacturer from South Korea.
According to the provincial plan towards 2030, with a vision to 2045, Quang Nam will have about 20,000 more hectares of eco-industrial parks and clusters where modern green industry will be developed.
Therefore, the province will give a priority to the development of digital economies, technological industries, nano-technology, biological and pharmaceutical industry, high-tech agriculture, environmental technology, and clean energy.
Quang Nam also focuses on the development of tourism, health care, vocational training, and logistics services.
At the same time, the province will set up non-tariff zones and trading platforms at international level.
Quang Nam is also trying to become a high-quality vocational training center in Central Vietnam.
