FDI in Quang Nam
(QNO) - There are currently 194 foreign direct investment (FDI) projects with over 6 billion USD in Quang Nam. Most of them are in Chu Lai Open Economic Zone and coastal tourism sites.
Reportedly, Quang Nam granted 76 new FDI projects with a total capital of 603.56 USD million between 2018 and 2022.
Among them are large-scale projects, such as the curtain fabric factory by Hyosung Quang Nam Co., Ltd. with a total capital of 410 million USD in Tam Thang Industrial Park, SGI Magnetic Project in North Chu Lai Industrial Park by Star Group Ind. Co., Ltd (South Korea) with 39.3 million USD, and the 35-million-USD seamless garment factory by Celebrity Fashion Vina Co. Ltd. (Hong Kong) in Tam Thang Industrial Park, and Nam Hoi An Resort by Hoi An South Development Ltd. (Singapore) with a total capital of 4 billion USD.
The FDI projects in Quang Nam come from 30 countries and territories.
The investment mainly focuses on the manufacturing, processing, service, and tourism industries.
South Korea is the country with the most projects (i.e. 57) with a total capital of over 824 million USD. Singapore is the largest FDI partner with 10 projects and nearly 4.1 billion USD.
The FDI projects make a positive contribution to the local socio-economic development. Besides contributing to the provincial budget, they provide the locals with about 56,000 jobs.
