28.5 million USD for water supply system in Dien Nam- Dien Ngoc and Tam Hiep

(QNO) - Water supply subproject in Dien Nam- Dien Ngoc and Tam Hiep under the Viet Nam Water Development Project is invested by Quang Nam Water Supply Joint Stock Company. The total investment amount is 28.5 million USD, of which 25 million USD is from the ODA loan of Asian Development Bank.

The subproject consists of two components. The component 1 is the construction of Dien Nam-Dien Ngoc water supply system with a capacity of 15,000 m3/day located in Trang Nhat I Industrial Complex. There will be 8,000 more water meters installed. The component 2 is the expansion of Tam Hiep Water supply plant from 5,000 to 25,000m3/day, the construction of water pipes from Phu Ninh lake to the new treatment plant; and 8,000 more water meters installed.

So far, 3 construction packages of the subproject have been put in a bid. Clear spaces are available for construction before 19 May, 2017. In March 2018, water supply plants of the two components will be put into operation in advance of its completion on 31 December, 2018.

On 1st March, Chairman of Quang Nam People’s Committee- Mr. Dinh Van Thu asked the related local authorities to coordinate and assist the investor in implementing the subprojects timely for its necessity, soon providing fresh running water to the project areas, especially the eastern coastal region of Dien Ban district and Chu Lai Open Economic Zone.
