(QNO) - In the reception for Japanese Governor of Nagasaki Prefecture Nakamura Norimichi, who led a business delegation from the prefecture visiting Vietnam last week, Prime Minister of Vietnam Nguyen Xuan Phuc asked his guests to foster the cooperation with Quang Nam province and other localities of Viet Nam, particularly in automobile manufacturing and shipbuilding.

At the meeting, Prime Minister Phuc expressed his delight to meet again Governor Nakamuara and the members of the delegation. He also believed that they are Vietnam’s close friends coming here, seeking and expanding cooperation and investment opportunities in the country. The long-outstanding relation between Vietnam and Japan has developed to become the strategic partnership. In reply, Governor Nakamuara thanked for Prime Minister Phuc’s warm welcome. In 2015, a Nagasaki prefecture’s delegation of 100 businesses visited Vietnam. Since then, many business delegations of Nagasaki have come to Vietnam to take part in cultural events such as Japanese festivals in Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) and to seek cooperation and investment opportunities in Vietnam.

In 2016, 30 Vietnamese students from Ho Chi Minh city were invited to a homestay in Nagasaki. The prefecture also has a close relation with Quang Nam province and intends to invite Quang Nam leaders to Nagasaki in 2017. Governor of Nagasaki recalled the marriage between Princess Ngoc Hoa in the Nguyen Dynasty and Japanese businessman Araki Soutaro in Hoi An city 400 years ago. This wedding is considered as a vivid evidence for the relation between Quang Nam and Nagasaki in particular, between the two nations as a whole.
