Provincial leader plays host to the U.S Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city

(QNO) - In the reception for the U.S Consul General in Ho Chi Minh city (Vietnam) Mary Tarnowka on May 25, Secretary of Quang Nam province’s Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Quang affirmed the development of the cooperative relationship between the province and the U.S businesses and non-governmental organizations. In the last years, the non-organisations made contributions to the provincial social security and protection of vulnerable people. The provincial leader hoped Mary Tarnowka will continue to support Quang Nam to propagate the province’s images, potentials and strengths, and to call for the U.S businesses into the province.

In reply, Mary Tarnowka agreed with the province’s leader’s requests. She said it was the third time she came to Quang Nam province. She was impressed by the province’s development. Quang Nam is in top 10 provinces in Vietnam with the highest Provincial Competitiveness Index (PCI), a key element to attract foreign investors. Many large projects were signed at an investment promotion conference organized in the locality.

On the same day, Ms Mary Tarnowka and Vice Chairman of Quang Nam province’s People’s Committee Le Van Thanh took part in the signing ceremony of Memorandum of Understanding between ExxonMobil Exploration and Production Vietnam Limited (EMEPVL) and VinaCapital Vietnam Opportunity Fund Ltd (VOF)  to improve healthcare capacity in Quang Nam province. Accordingly, 50,000 USD will be supported to equip the pediatrics of the clinics in 8 southern districts with modern medical equipment.
