Japanese Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary to Vietnam visits Quang Nam
(QNO) - Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary of Japan to Vietnam Kunio UMEDA visited Quang Nam province last week. He had a working session with Secretary of Provincial Party Committee Nguyen Ngoc Quang and Chairman of Provincial People’s Committee Dinh Van Thu.

At the meeting, Chairman Thu gave a brief speech about the socio-economic situation of Quang Nam, the friendly cooperation between Quang Nam and Japanese organizations and localities. Japan invested over USD 30 million into Quang Nam provincial rural infrastructure, environment improvement, and waste processing. Up to the end of July 2017, nearly USD 60,000 from Japan helped to solve the problems of education, culture, socio-economy, and household economic development.

The cooperation between Quang Nam and Japanese localities is now being maintained and developed positively and reliably. Especially in June 2017, a Memorandum of Understanding on the friendship between Quang Nam and Nagasaki provinces was signed. Besides, Hoi An city (Quang Nam province) also cooperated with Sakai city (Osaka province) and Nagasaki (Nagasaki province) in the Vietnam-Japan Cultural Exchange, which according to Mr. Quang is a traditional event honouring cultural beauties of both localities.
Mr. Kunio Umeda thanked for the warm welcome from Quang Nam’s leaders. He promised to maintain and develop the cooperative relationship between Quang Nam and Japanese localities, call for Japanese investment into Quang Nam.
