The 55th Anniversary of Vietnam-Laos Diplomatic Relations
(QNO) – On the occasion of the 55th Anniversary of Vietnam-Laos Diplomatic Relations (September 5, 1962 – September 5, 2017) and 40 years of Vietnam-Laos Friendship and Cooperation Treaty (July 18, 1977 – July 18, 2017), the exchange of returning to traditional moral values was held in Phu Ninh district (Quang Nam province) on September 28. Present at the event were Vice Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee Le Van Thanh, Consul General of Laos in Da Nang City Khamsene Phommaseng, representatives of the Central Vietnam-Laos Friendship Association, former Vietnamese Volunteers in Laos, and Lao students studying in Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Da Nang.

Speaking at the ceremony, Vice Chairman Le Van Thanh reviewed the close relationship between Vietnam and Laos in the wars against French colonialism and American imperialism. At the same time, he talked about the friendship between the twin provinces, Quang Nam (Vietnam) and Sekong (Laos).
Meanwhile, Lao Consul General Khamsene Phommaseng stated that Quang Nam helped Laos so much in the past. Tam Vinh commune (Phu Ninh district) was the revolutionary base of the Lao revolutionary armed force and Vietnamese volunteers in the Lower Laotian resistance zone and the Southern Central Bureau of Politics. It was the symbol of Vietnam-Laos friendship and solidarity in the struggle against French colonialism.
On this occasion, the inauguration ceremony of the VND-1.6-billion reception house was held at the national monument of the Lower Laotian resistance zone and the Southern Central Bureau of Politics. There were 10 scholarships given to Lao students and 30 others to local studious students.
