A Memorandum of Understanding of border troops
(QNO) - The delegations of the Military Headquarters of Sekong province (Laos) and the Border Guards from the provinces of Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Thua Thien Hue (Vietnam) have just had a discussion in Tam Ky city (Quang Nam province).

Reportedly, the situation of security and sovereignty in the border areas between Sekong province and Quang Nam, Kon Tum and Thua Thien Hue was stable in 2017. Particularly, Quang Nam provincial Border Headquarters consulted the Quang Nam People’s Committee about building Dac Ta Ooc check-point with the expenditure of 48 billion VND, supporting rice for families in Lao border and finance for 3 Lao students. Based on the solidarity and friendship, two sides agreed a combined project in 2018 including bilateral patrolling, tightly controlling the mutual borders, continuing to consult local authorities to carry out the agreement between Vietnam-Laos on free migration and illegal marriage and keeping security in the mutual borders.
Ending the discussion, the leaders of Border Troops of Quang Nam, Kon Tum, Thua Thien Hue and Sekong’s Boder Headquarters signed a Memorandum of Understanding to work out the above contents effectively in the coming time.
