Quang Nam: Outstanding achievements in 2017
(QNO) - Quang Nam Newspapers has just selected the outstanding events of Quang Nam province in 2017, creating motive powers for the local development in 2018. They consist of the following.
The province after 20 years of re-establishment
As a poor province facing a lot of difficulties, Quang Nam becomes a relatively developed province. It was one of the cities and provinces nationwide regulating their budget to the Central Government in 2017. The average economic growth rate by year reached 11% and the per capital income in the province increased 28 times.

Success in organizing activities of APEC Vietnam 2017
Some parts of APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Forum 2017, an international and national event, were organized in Hoi An city, Quang Nam province such as APEC’s Finance Ministers’ Meeting, APEC leaders’ spouses and APEC economies chiefs visiting Hoi An ancient town, APEC Voice of Future Forum and its delegates visiting Hoi An, Tam Ky cities and Phu Ninh district.

The 6th Quang Nam Heritage Festival
The event taking place in many places in the province attracted the delegations from 33 countries and territories with many interesting activities including the exhibition of Vietnam’s seas and islands, cultural heritages, Bai Choi singing festival, introduction of UNESCO’s intangible cultural heritages in Quang Nam, Ngoc Linh ginseng festival, investment promotion conference.

Foreign relations
The year 2017 marked new pinnacles in foreign relations between Quang Nam and localities and countries in the region. The Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) for cooperative activities was signed between Quang Nam and Sekong province (Laos). The Vietnam-Japan cultural space was launched by Quang Nam People’s Committee and Nagasaki province (Japan). The event South Korean Days in Quang Nam was held consisting of meeting South Korean partners and investors to introduce provincial images, potentials and strengths.

Investment promotion conference attracting 15.8 billion USD
At this event, the province attracted more than 30 projects with the total of registered investment capital of 15.8 billion USD in such fields as industry, tourism, urban area, agriculture, training and education.

Responding to national start-up programme
At the beginning of this year, a team for start-up supports was born in the province. Start-ups in Quang Nam focus on tourism, agriculture, mechanism, technology and communication and so on.

Administrative reform
The Quang Nam Center for Public Administration and Investment Promotion was put into operation in order to resolve administrative procedures, investment promotion and business support in the locality.
