Finnish Ambassador to Vietnam visits the miniSCADA project in Tam Ky
(QNO) - The delegation of Finnish diplomats in Vietnam led by Ambassador Extraordinary and Plenipotentiary Kari Juhani Kahilouto visited the miniSCADA project in Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province on July 11. Counselor of Embassy of Finland Marko Tapani Saarinen and the representative of ABB Oy company (Finland) took part in the visit.

The delegation visited the grid control center at Quang Nam Power Company, an important item of the miniSCADA project in Tam Ky city. According to Mr. Nguyen Thanh, Assistant General Director of Central Electricity Corporation, the corporation has received a new preferential credit of nearly VND 200 billion from the Government of Finland to build the miniSCADA systems in Tam Ky (Quang Nam) and Pleiku (Gia Lai) in the process of the power grid modernization. The project has now been completed and put into use. It brings into full play practical effect in regulating and operating the power grid. The miniSCADA system used for monitoring and collecting the power data, controlling the power distribution networks automatically, and improving the staffs’ capacity. Thereby, the quality of power in the project area is uninterrupted and stable.
Mr. Kari Juhani Kahilouto felt pleased with the Finnish Government's effective investment in the development of the smart grids in Vietnam, namely the miniSCADA projects in Tam Ky and Pleiku. He also mentioned investing in the smart grid in Hoi An city and paid attention to the development of power grids in the mountainous districts of Quang Nam.
