Vietnam-Laos friendship exchange in Quang Nam

(QNO) - The Vietnam-Laos friendship exchange programme has just been organized on the occasion of the 43rd Anniversary of the Lao National Day ( December 2, 1975-2018) by Quang Nam University. Representatives of Laotian Consulate General in Da Nang city and of the Laos-Viet Friendship Association of Sekong province took part the event.

Speaking at the event, Vice Rector of Quang Nam University Vu Phuong Anh stated, during the past 43 years, under the leadership of the Lao People's Revolutionary Party, Lao people have got great and significant achievements that have created a new aspect for Laos.

Since the 2006-2007 school year, Quang Nam University has organised Vietnamese classes and courses for specific purposes for Lao students. At present, there are 168 Lao students studying in this university. At the same time, 68 students from two provinces of Sekong and Champasak are learning Vietnamese in the academic year 2018 - 2019. According to Vice Rector Anh, training Lao students is a responsibility and great honor of Quang Nam University, contributing to fostering the special friendship between the two countries.

The representative of Laotian Consulate General in Da Nang city and of the Laos-Viet Friendship Association of Sekong province thanked the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee and Quang Nam University for receiving Lao students, contributing to improving Lao socio-economic development.

In addition, each Lao student in Quang Nam is hoped become a bridge between Laos and Vietnam. They can introduce Lao culture to Vietnam and better the friendship relation between Quang Nam and Sekong provinces in particular and between the two countries Vietnam and Laos in general.
