Meeting with Lao students in Quang Nam
(QNO) - On the occasion of the 44th anniversary of Lao National Day (December 2, 1975 – December 2, 2019), a meeting with Lao students in Quang Nam was jointly held by Quang Nam University and Vietnam- Laos Friendship Association on November 28.
Present at the meeting were Quang Nam leaders, Lao Consul General in Da Nang city Viengxay Phommachanh and nearly 200 Lao students in Quang Nam.
Quang Nam yearly gives 40-50 scholarships to Lao students from Champasac and Sekong provinces. Till now, over 500 Lao students have graduated from universities and colleges in Quang Nam. There are now 172 Lao students studying Vietnamese studies, Information Technology, Vietnamese and so on at Quang Nam University.
On the occasions of Laos’ National Day, Independence Day and Bunpimay, Quang Nam University always organizes meetings and exchanges between Vietnamese and Lao students in order to tighten the friendship between Champasac, Sekong and Quang Nam, the lasting relations between Laos and Vietnam in general.
At this event, Standing Deputy Secretary Le Van Dung gave VND 10 million to Lao students in Quang Nam.
