Quang Nam: 10 prominent events in 2021
(QNO) - The authorities and people in Quang Nam province overcame difficulties including the Covid-19 epidemic to maintain socio-economic development.
1.Successful and safe elections of deputies to 15th Vietnam’s National Assembly and People's Councils of all levels for 2021-2026 tenure in the context of the Covid-19 epidemic.
2.Despite negative impacts of Covid-19, the State budget revenue exceeded the target set by the Government. Notably, industry and construction showed a sign of recovery with an increase of 7.8%.
3.The national scientific symposium on 550 years (1471-2021) of Quang Nam establishment and development and the 550th anniversary of the Quang Nam Name were oraganised by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee.
4.Strategic breakthroughs in planning such as the Quang Nam master planning in the 2021-2030 period, with a vision to 2050, plans of inter-district, inter-town and inter-city in the province’s eastern region.
5.Promotion of land clearance with key projects such as Vo Chi Cong street to Chu Lai airport, Thaco (Truong Hai Auto Corp.) Industrial Zone, infrastructure development for climate change response in Hoi An.
6.Nam Giang (Quang Nam province, Vietnam) - Dak Ta-Ook (Sekong, Laos) international border gate was officially opened.
It contributes to the trade development, solidarity and friendship between Quang Nam and Sekong, especially people living in the border areas.
It is also expected to support both Vietnam’s and Laos’ socio-economic development and national security.
7.3G and 4G mobile coverage and digital transformation to all rural communities in the province.
8.The Quang Nam Provincial People’s Committee signed strategic cooperation agreements on digital transformation with large information technology corporations such as FPT, VNPT, Viettel...
9.Thaco exported 870 semi-trailers to the US market. It was the first shipment under the agreement between Thaco Industries (Vietnam) and PITTS Enterprises Group (USA) on 15,500 semi-trailers, with a value of 215 million USD, exported to the US by 2022.
Another agreement on exclusive distribution of 25,000 semi-trailers worth more than 350 million USD by 2023 was officially signed by Thaco Industries and PITTS Enterprises.
10.Quang Nam is the first Vietnam’s locality to promulgate a set of green tourism criteria. It is an important premise to promote sustainable development of Quang Nam tourism in the new period.
