Consul General of Japan visits Quang Nam
(QNO) - Secretary of the Quang Nam provincial Party Committee Phan Viet Cuong had a courtesy meeting with Yakabe Yoshinori- Japanese Consul General in Da Nang city on April 19.
According to Mr. Phan Viet Cuong, the upgrading of the Japanese Consulate Office into the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang city shows that the Government of Japan is interested in the provinces and cities in Central Vietnam.
He also believes that the Consulate General of Japan keeps on the coordinating relationships with these localities, especially with Quang Nam, and makes them closer and more effective.
At the meeting, Mr. Phan Viet Cuong mentioned some achievements in the cooperation between Quang Nam and Japanese partners.
At the same time, he stated Quang Nam proposals to organise 4 events/ activities on the occasion of the 50th anniversary of Vietnam- Japan diplomatic relations in 2023.
Quang Nam will host the ‘Meet Japan 2023’, which is expected to be held in the 2nd quarter of 2023.
Mr. Cuong wished the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang to support Quang Nam to rebuild the provincial mountainous areas which have been affected by natural disasters and landslides, help residents there adapt to climate change and natural disasters, and support these localities with earthquake early warning.
At the meeting between Consul General of Japan in Da Nang city and Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh, Mr. Thanh talked about the provincial plan to build the fastest and most convenient road between Quang Nam National Highway 1 to the Nam Giang international border gate, connecting with some roads in Laos, Thailand, and Myanmar in order to serve for freight transport and tourism development.
In particular, THACO (Truong Hai Auto Corporation) has submitted an own proposal to build a new road between Chu Lai sea port to the Nam Giang international border gate.
When the road comes into operation, it will facilitate the socio-economic and tourism development in the provincial mountainous areas.
Besides, Quang Nam has much potential for growth, such as 55% of the provincial labour force being young, the large land fund in industrial parks and clusters with good quality of the infrastructure and services.
Currently, Quang Nam is establishing a set of criteria for green and ecological industrial parks and clusters to attract more environmentally friendly investors who are encouraged to use solar power system for their production and other activities.
According to Yakabe Yoshinori, there are more and more Japanese investors in Central Vietnam.
Japanese businesses are also very interested in advantages of Quang Nam.
He promised to send Quang Nam suggestions to the Japanese Embassy and Ministry of Foreign Affairs in order to make the provincial plans come true in the near future.
