Quang Nam - Sekong comprehensive cooperation

(QNO) - A high-level delegation from Sekong province (Laos) led by Sekong provincial Governor Lechlay Sivilay paid a working visit in Quang Nam on September 14.

Quang Nam Party Secretary Phan Viet Cuong received the delegation.

Giving a speech at the working session, Phan Viet Cuong said that Quang Nam and Sekong share the same border with each other.

Two parties have a long tradition of cooperation, always stand side by side to support each other to get over all difficulties and challenges for the development and the special friendship and comprehensive cooperation between the two parties.

The visit was considered a good opportunity for Sekong and Quang Nam to discuss important issues for cooperation and development between the two parties.

At the same time, the meeting focused on the coordination of implementing the high-voltage power lines in the border area of Nam Giang district connecting with Dak Chung district (Sekong province), from Nam Emoun hydroelectric plant (Laos) to Vietnam through Nam Giang international border gate.

At the same time, the two parties talked about border gate management, immigration, import and export, and customs clearance of goods through the Nam Giang - Dak Ta Ooc international border gate.

Phan Viet Cuong asked the delegates of each party to talk about solutions for the cooperation between the two countries.

According to Lechlay Sivilay, the cooperation between Quang Nam and Sekong has taken place smoothly.

He hoped to receive much more supports from Quang Nam, especially in education. He also wanted Quang Nam to invest in and deploy projects in Sekong and important issues between the two localities.

Reportedly, Quang Nam and Sekong have cooperated and developed socio-economic systems, respecting each other's sovereignty.
