(QNO) - The "Princess Anio" opera, a symbolic work of Vietnam - Japan friendship, premiered on August 3 at Hoi An park, Hoi An city, Quang Nam province. It is also part of the 20th Hoi An - Japan Cutural Exchange event.
Attending the premiere were representatives from the Consulate General of Japan in Da Nang city, Japanese units, organizations, and localities cooperating with Hoi An city, along with numerous local delegates and Hoi An students.
The opera, lasting about two hours, captivated the audience with the true love story between Vietnamese Princess Ngoc Hoa and Araki Sotaro, a merchant from Nagasaki (Japan) during the early 17th-century Shuinsen trade period.
The "Princess Anio" opera celebrating the 50th anniversary of the establishment of diplomatic relations between Viet Nam and Japan (1973 - 2023), was produced by the Vietnam National Symphony Orchestra and the "Princess Anio" management team.
The opera Princess Anio carries meaningful messages, contributing to the musical development of both countries. It also connects historical, cultural, and artistic values from the past to the present, enhancing Vietnam - Japan relations and fostering closer ties between their peoples.
