(QNO) - On February 8, Prime Minister Pham Minh Chinh paid a working visit to THACO Group, accompanied by central government and Quang Nam leaders.
THACO's investment in innovation and development
During the visit, PM Pham Minh Chinh listened to THACO Chairman Tran Ba Duong report on the Group's business performance and its future development strategy.
The company is building a specialised port for 50,000-ton vessels to establish an efficient logistics network. In mechanical engineering and supporting industries, THACO has heavily invested in modern technology and machinery, with its R&D Centre of over 1,000 engineers enhancing product quality and global competitiveness.
In 2025, THACO targets 108,000 vehicle sales and over VND 80 trillion in revenue. According to Chairman Tran Ba Duong, opening the Cua Lo waterway will reduce logistics costs and boost small and medium enterprises in Central Vietnam.
THACO currently has over 60,000 employees, including more than 15,000 at Chu Lai, with 28% holding higher degrees. This skilled workforce drives THACO’s sustainable growth and supports Vietnam’s auto industry.

PM Pham Minh Chinh praised THACO’s achievements and emphasized its key role in Vietnam’s economic development.
The Vietnamese Prime Misnister appreciated THACO’s expansion, improved quality, and increased localisation, driven by technology, automation, and digitalisation.
He highlighted THACO’s R&D investment as a key advantage for long-term competitiveness. With over 60,000 employees, THACO plays a crucial role in Quang Nam’s economic growth.
He approved THACO’s proposals and urged it to develop high-speed rail carriages to boost local production and reduce imports.
PM Pham Minh Chinh hoped that THACO continues to innovate, invest, and enhance competitiveness, contributing to national economic growth.
