A VND-0 fair for the poor takes place at Hoi An Museum (Quang Nam province) on the occasion of the New Year of Buffalo.

The fair started on the afternoon of February 5, 2021. It includes 50 stands of necessities provided by the “Thien nguyen Tuoi sang” (Bright Volunteer) group.

More than 1000 poor households in 13 communes and wards were served at the fair. The fair is held in turns, satisfying the regulations on Covid-19 prevention.

Due to the bad impacts of Covid-19, a lot of people in Hoi An have become unemployed, especially those who have earned their living in tourism.

Lots of households have fallen into poverty. Therefore, the VND-0 fair hopes to give a little help to the poor in Hoi An so that they may have a better and warmer Tet.

The fair is the representation of ‘good leaves cover torn leaves’- a great Vietnamese moral tradition.
