(QNO) - Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People's Committee, Le Van Dung, had a courtesy meeting with the Philippine Ambassador to Vietnam, Meynardo LB. Montealegre, on December 9.
At the meeting, Chairman Le Van Dung welcomed Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre to Quang Nam and expressed the provincial hopes for strengthened investment, economic cooperation, and ties between Quang Nam and the Philippines.
According to Le Van Dung, Quang Nam always encourages foreign investors to find opportunities and collaboration in the local priority and key sectors. Quang Nam currently has over 200 FDI projects. In 2024, the Quang Nam economy is projected to rank second in Central Vietnam.
Le Van Dung hoped that Ambassador Meynardo LB. Montealegre and the Philippine Embassy would introduce Quang Nam's potential to Philippine investors so that they could explore investment opportunities in the province.
Meynardo LB. Montealegre thanked Quang Nam for the warm welcome and mentioned the longstanding and positive relationship between Vietnam and the Philippines.
He also said that Vietnam is the only Southeast Asian country with which the Philippines has established a strategic partnership (November 2015).
The Ambassador congratulated Quang Nam on its economic achievements and hoped for future collaboration between Quang Nam and the Philippines in diplomacy, cultural exchange, and tourism development.
He also expressed a desire for more Philippine businesses to invest in Quang Nam and requested provincial leaders to support enterprises throughout the investment process.
