(QNO) - The opening ceremony of the Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 took place on the evening of June 14 at Tam Thanh Sea Square.
Present at the event were leaders of Quang Nam province and Tam Ky city, local people and visitors.
In his opening speech, Permanent Deputy Chairman of the Tam Ky City People's Committee Nguyen Minh Nam stated that the Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 aims to introduce local values, resources, and tourism products to the public, contributing to investment promotion and attraction and creating a driving force for socioeconomic development in Tam Ky.
According to Nguyen Minh Nam, Tam Ky has been attempting to make the city rich in identity, turn it into a friendly tourist attraction based on its natural landscapes and cultural, historical, and ecological values.
Tam Ky is considered the beloved motherland where the Vietnamese Heroic Mother Statue is situated. It is also a land of national historical sites, including Ky Anh Tunnels, of natural beauties in a harmonious combination with the rare and diverse ecosystem of Bai Say - Song Dam. Besides, Tam Ky owns Vietnam’s first mural village, Tam Thanh, with its vibrant colours, the Tam Thanh beach with its blue sea, white sand, yellow sun, and the poetic green Truong Giang river. All of them have potential for tourism development.
The Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 aims to celebrate and spread the unique values of Tam Ky’s indigenous cultural resources to people and travellers, contributing to the realisation of Tam Ky’s aspiration towards a dynamic urban area in Central Vietnam.
The welcoming art show at the opening ceremony of the Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 reflected the lifestyle and cultural characteristics of the coastal people, praising Tam Ky, a young city, with the participation of actors and actresses all over the country.
The Tam Ky Sea Festival 2024 will last until June 30 with more than 10 exciting and attractive activities, such as an art show, a carnival and grand beach music festival, an exchange of Bai Choi performance art, a promotion of Tam Thanh cuisine and fish sauce, a sea marathon, a swimming contest, and a coracle race on the sea.
