(QNO) - The event happening on November 9 was a part of activities of the ongoing 2017 APEC (Asia-Pacific Economic Cooperation) Economic Leaders’ Week to welcome the delegations from 21 APEC member economies.

The park, next to the Museum of Cham Sculpture covers an area of 3,047m2, including cultural symbolic statues which are sent by APEC member economies. These works of art have highly unique values.

Addressing the opening ceremony, Vietnamese Deputy Prime Minister cum Minister of Foreign Affairs and Chairman of the APEC 2017 National Committee Pham Binh Minh stated that the park aims to deepen mutual understanding in APEC nations and promote cultural exchanges amongst the people in Asia-Pacific region. Vietnam greatly appreciates the participation of APEC economic leaders at the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week, together building APEC rich in culture and prosperity, toward the theme of APEC 2017 “Creating New Dynamism, Fostering a Shared Future”.

Reportedly, spouses of the leaders of APEC member economies plant commemorative trees in this part on the occasion of the 2017 APEC Economic Leaders’ Week.
