(QNO) - The first Ngoc Linh Ginseng Festival- Ngoc Linh Legend- was planned to occur in Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province) from June 9 to 12, 2017.

According to Chairman of Nam Tra My district people’s committee Ho Quang Buu, the festival would be a good opportunity to advertise Ngoc Linh ginseng and other herbal medicines, introduce the local traditional culture, the beauty of the landscapes here where there are potentials to develop tourism. So, the festival was planned with many interesting activities such as huge ginseng symbol parade, reappearance of the sacrifice to the Gods of Mountain and Ginseng, new ginseng crop festival, Gong festival, local traditional festivals and some other art and cultural activities. An exhibition of Ngoc Linh ginseng and local agroforestry products will be take place at the festival. Besides, a songwriting competition themed Ngoc Linh Ginseng and Forest Protection will also be launched. A series of stamps of Ngoc Linh ginseng will be printed on this occasion.
Deputy chairman of Quang Nam provincial people’s committee asked the district to plan a significant festival, to attract visitors to the event and to practise economization.
The festival is estimated to cost about VND 5.5 billion coming from state budget and socialization.
