UN-Habitat supports Quang Nam in sustainable green development

(QNO) - A delegation from the United Nations Habitat Program (UN-Habitat) has just had a working visit to Quang Nam province.

At the meeting, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh expressed his pleasure to receive the delegation.

On behalf of the provincial leaders, he thanked for the UN-Habitat’s projects in Quang Nam in the past time including the projects on “Strengthening institutions and building capacity for urban development” and “Promoting innovation among local young people and communities for sustainable urban development”.

Chairman Thanh hoped Quang Nam will receive more support from the UN-Habitat in the coming time, especially in strenthening instituition and urban development capacity.

The UN-Habitat delegation highly appreciated the green and sustainable development orientation of Quang Nam province. They also gave Quang Nam some recommendations and general solutions for sustainable urban development and adaptation to climate change.

At the same day, the delegation from UN-Habitat and Tam Ky City People's Committee (Quang Nam province) discussed the pilot implementation of component 4 of the project "Strengthening institutions and building capacity for urban development in Tam Thanh commune".
