(QNO) - A delegation of Quang Nam Women’s Union paid a working visit to Laos’ Sekong Women’s Union on September 19-20.
At the working session, some results of the cooperation between Quang Nam and Sekong Women’s Unions in the period of 2014-2019 were discussed. Then the contents of cooperation in the period of 2019-2029 were also agreed. One of them is the development of the friendship between two countries, two provinces and two unions.
Besides, they mentioned the problems related to border districts such as twinned districts, illegal immigration, illegal marriage, safety and security, human (especially child) trafficking.
Quang Nam Women’s Union has made every effort to help Sekong women and children. In the period of 2014-2019, Quang Nam Women’s Union helped Sekong poor women build 7 friendship houses, a charity house for Mother Heem in La Mam district, 3 laptops, 40 gifts, and 40 scholarships for Lao students in Quang Nam. On the occasion of this visit, Quang Nam Women’s Union gave VND200 million to build charity houses for Sekong poor women.
