(QNO) - On December 28, the national scientific symposium on 550 years of Quang Nam establishment development was oraganised by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee and the Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences.
The symposium is a key part on the 550th anniversary of the name of Quang Nam (1471-2021).
Participants in the event are Quang Nam leaders, leaders from Central agencies and more than 70 scientists, researchers, managers in the fields of economics, history, culture, ethnology, archeology, linguistics nationwide.
Speaking at the opening of the event, Chairman of the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee Le Tri Thanh said, 550 years ago (1471), King Le Thanh Tong issued a decree to establish the 13th administrative unit called Quang Nam of Dai Viet.
It consisted of 3 districts: Thang Hoa, Tu Nghia and Hoai Nhon (provinces and cities of Da Nang, Quang Nam, Quang Ngai and Binh Dinh today).
Quang Nam always plays an important role in the country’s politics, military and economy.
“Quang Nam is a sacred land with extraordinary people. It is home to traditional values of history, culture, revolutionary heroes, patriots, revolutionary leaders, famous intellectual patriotic personalities.
So, this event is an important political event of the province to introduce and honor these traditional values, affirm the role and great contributions of the land and people of Quang Nam to Vietnam’s maintenance growth, and show the Quang Nam current generation’s gratefulness to their forefathers”, Thanh said.
According to Chairman Thanh, the event will arouse the pride of all Quang Nam people to build a richer, more beautiful and civilized land.
The local people’s life becomes happier and more prosperous. At the same time, he recommended orientations and solutions for Quang Nam’s rapid and sustainable development in the context of global integration and of the 4th technological revolution.
Giving his report at the event, Assoc.Prof.Dr. Bui Nhat Quang, President of Vietnam Academy of Social Sciences said, identifying the values, heritage, resources and identity of Quang Nam land is a very important to evaluate the strengths, opportunities, position.
At the same time, he pointed out the barriers and challenges that need to be cleared to help Quang Nam develop quickly, strongly and sustainably, and promote the inherent values of the land more.
