MoU on Tay Giang - Dak Cheung cooperation

(QNO) - A delegation of Tay Giang district (Quang Nam province, Vietnam) has had a working visit to Kalum and Dak Cheung districts (Sekong province, Laos).

The visit was on the occasion of the Lao traditional New Year festival, known as Bunpimay.

Obuala Onmalayvong- Secretary of the Party Committee and district chief of Kalum received the delegation.

According to Tay Giang leaders, besides the best New year wishes to Kalum, the visit is really significant, contributing to the Tay Giang - Kalum friendship promotion, cooperation for the mutual socio-economic development and security in the border area.

Obuala Onmalayvong thanked the Tay Giang delegation for their best wishes and for the help with natural disasters and disease.

On this occasion, the Tay Giang delegation had an annual meeting with Dak Cheung district about the good cooperation in border patrol to ensure the security in the border areas, facilitating the goods exchange between the two parties.

Besides, Tay Giang and Dak Cheung always cooperate and exchange information and mutually support for the local socio-economic development.

On the Bunpimay festival, Tay Giang helped Dak Cheung with provisions, medicines and medical equipment.

On this occasion, Tay Giang and Dak Cheung signed a Memorandum of Understanding (MoU) on cooperation and development in the coming time.

Representatives of 4 provinces of Southern Laos, Ubon Ratchathani (Thailand) and 11 Vietnam’s localities including Quang Nam took part in the forum.
