A delegation led by Chairman of Kaleum district (Sekong province, Laos) had a working visit to Hiep Duc district of Quang Nam province on August 4.
At the meeting, leaders of two districts gave each other some brief information about their socio-economic development and national security. Concurrently, the meeting also discussed the cooperation between the two parties.
Reportedly, it is the first time Hiep Duc has received a Lao delegation.
Kaleum is a poor district of Sekong province, home to ethnic minorities living along the Quang Nam - Sekong border. Its infrastructure and healthcare services are still in poor conditions. So, Vietnamese border guards and army medical corps usually go there for help.
On this occasion, Hiep Duc and Kaleum signed a Memorandum of Understanding on cooperation and development.
