(QNO) - The annual meeting took place in Tam Ky city (Quang Nam province) between the Vietnamese Fatherland Front Committee (VFFC) in Quang Nam province and the Lao Front for National Construction (LFNC) in Sekong province on August 1, 2023.
Co-chairs of the meeting were Quang Nam VFFC Chairman Vo Xuan Ca and Sekong LFNC Chairwoman Bunhien Bunchit.
The meeting talked about the one-year implementation of the Memorandum of Understanding for 2022 - 2027 between the two parties.
It included surveys of the twinning between Quang Nam and Sekong provincial localities; the coordination with functional agencies for the socio-economic development in border areas, for sustainable poverty alleviation, for national security, for dealing with the problems of illegal marriage, free migration, and crimes.
Reportedly, Quang Nam has also helped Lao people in the border areas with their production and their life stabilisation.
Besides, the two parties gave brief information about their natural conditions, socio-economic development, the implementation of the cooperation agreement, and strengthening the solidarity between them.
According to Vo Xuan Ca, Quang Nam and Sekong share a 142,5-km borderline.
The working visit of the Sekong LFNC delegation to Quang Nam has great significance, strengthening the friendship between the two parties, Quang Nam and Sekong provinces, Vietnam and Laos in general.
