6 Laotians to be granted Vietnamese citizenship


(QNO) - A ceremony to announce and hand over the Vietnamese President’s Decision No. 1148 / QD-CTN on the granting of Vietnamese nationality to 6 Lao citizens was organized in A Xan border commune (Tay Giang district) by the Quang Nam provincial People’s Committee on December 16.

These Laotians, who are living in Tay Giang district, Quang Nam province, are in the cases of free immigration and illegal marriage in Quang Nam border area.

Speaking at the ceremony, Deputy Chief of Ka Lum district of Sekong province, Laos emphasized that this Vietnamese President’s decision is humanistic. It contributes to solving the problems of free migration and illegal marriage in the border areas between Vietnam and Laos.

On this occasion, the authorities of Tay Giang district granted birth certificates, household registrations and identity cards to Lao citizens who were granted Vietnamese nationality.
