(QNO) - Leaders of Tam Ky city, Quang Nam province has just worked with the experts of the UNESCO office in Vietnam to discuss the strategy of community-based tourism development in Tam Thanh commune.

Tam Thanh mural village- a cooperative project of the Tam Ky city's People's Committee, Korea Foundation and UN-Habitat put into operation in June 2016 has attracted thousands of tourists, especially on the occasions of Quang Nam Heritage Festival and APEC Economic Leader's Week in 2017. At this meeting, representatives of the UNESCO showed the big tourism potential of Tam Thanh community art village. So, the UNESCO and other international organizations will continue to support Tam Ky city to build a new tourism product in Tam Thanh attached to the conservation and promotion of cultural heritages such as ba trao and bai choi singing, Cau Ngu festival; the training of souvenir making, teaching English communicative skill to the local residents, organizing composing camps. The UNESCO will coordinate with international organizations to organize a forum of the city trade name with the participation of 200 international representatives. The event will be a start of the cooperative programmes between Tam Ky city and the UNESCO in the coming time.
