(QNO) - New Consul General of the Lao PDR in Danang city, Vietnam Viengxay Phommachanh and his staffs paid leaders of Quang Nam province a courtesy call on December 17.

At the reception, on behalf of the Quang Nam leaders, Quang Nam Party Secretary Nguyen Ngoc Quang sent his congratulations to Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh. Secretary Quang hoped new Lao Consul General in Danang to continue as a solid bridge for good relations between the two countries Vietnam and Laos as well as Lao provinces and Quang Nam.
Mr. Quang highlighted the socio-economic growth of Quang Nam province in the past years. Quang Nam province has invested in forest plantation, coffee production, agro-forestry processing industry and fresh vegetable projects in Se Kong province of Laos. Since the 2006-2007 school year, Quang Nam University has organised Vietnamese classes and courses for specific purposes for Lao students. In this school year, hundreds of students from Sekong and Champasak provinces of Laos are studying in Quang Nam University and Quang Nam Health College. According to Quang, training Lao students is a responsibility and great honor of Quang Nam province, contributing to fostering the special friendship between the two countries.
Mr. Viengxay Phommachanh thanked the good sentiment Quang Nam’s Party and people give to Laos. Once again, he affirmed that the traditional friendship relation and comprehensive cooperation between the the two peoples of Vietnam - Laos is the brotherhood. It will be green and stable forever.
