Nam Tra My destination

(QNO) - The climate in Nam Tra My district (Quang Nam province) is cool and temperate. Here, the traditional values of the ethnic minorities such as Xe Dang, Ca Dong, Cor  are nearly integrally conserved. They are favourable conditions to develop cultural eco-tourism in the coming time.

There are many attracting landscapes in Nam Tra My such as the 2,592m-high Ngoc Linh mountain top with abundant flora and fauna, a 5-storey waterfall, Tra Don hot water stream, and several primitive and mysterious caves. Besides, the district is home to historic places  (e.g., Nuoc La historical military bases), games, festivals, customs, rites, folk-songs, dances and  musical instrument performances, especially trade name of Ngoc Linh ginseng. Ngoc Linh ginseng is one of 7 national-level ginseng development projects. It will help the district propagate, call for investment, connect with tourism agencies inside and outside Quang Nam province.  

According to  Chairman of Nam Tra My district’s People Committee Ho Quang Buu, the project on conservation and enhancement of ethnic minorities’ traditional culture linking to tourism development in the 2015-2020 period with a vision toward 2030 has been ratified. The craft and cultural villages, traditional houses, festivals, landscapes in the district are invested for conservation and restoration. In addition, local resident’s ability and awareness of community-based tourism development are strengthened for sustainable and synchronous growth.

Moreover, Nam Tra My district’s potentials are suitable to medical tourism, experience, discovery and photo tours as suggested by Mr Thai Son from Vitour travel agency (Da Nang city). Hopefully, Nam Tra My will be a new and attracting destination in the near future.
