(QNO) - Quang Nam provincial Party Secretary Phan Viet Cuong played host to the delegation from Nagasaki (Japan) on September 8.
At the meeting, Mr. Cuong talked about the trade relations between Vietnam and Japan in general, Hoi An and Nagasaki in particular more than 400 years ago. In 2017, there were cooperative and friendship agreements signed between Quang Nam and Nagasaki, Quang Nam Provincial People’s Council and Nagasaki Prefectural Assembly of Representatives. Secretary Cuong hoped the cooperation between Quang Nam and Nagasaki would be fostered in medicinal herbs, agro-forestry-fishery processing, hi-quality human resource training, development of Japanese quarter on Nguyen Thi Minh Khai street (Hoi An City) ...
In addition, Quang Nam asked the Nagasaki delegation to connect to ethnic minorities in western Quang Nam (especially in Bac Tra My district), share with them the experience in coping with earthquakes.
On behalf of the Nagasaki delegation, Toshiharu YAE - former Chairman of the Nagasaki Prefectural Assembly of Representatives, Chairman of the Friendship League with ASEAN-Nagasaki Prefectural Assembly of Representatives thanked for the warm welcome from Quang Nam leaders. He pledged to better the cooperation between Nagasaki and Quang Nam and the supporting activities for Quang Nam.
